...how people get these, oh-so-fine lines drawn perfectly steady on a curvy surface.
I guess it's like with all the other beautiful artisan products in this world: Lots of practice, a steady hand, and a considerable amount of talent...

In the middle of a busy week and with more action to come, I was able to do a quick, surprise flea-market visit, and picked up this wooden painted egg. It's rather big and intricately painted.
My guess is that it's originally from Russia or Eastern Europe (Poland? Hungary?). Anybody seen a similar piece before, and knows a bit more? I'd love to hear about it!
